Art That Speaks When Words Can’t

Michelle Can’t Spell is more than a creative business—it’s a movement to help people express themselves through art, especially when they can’t find the right words.

The company was inspired by Michelle, a gifted young artist who once struggled with spelling and was teased for it—even though she was an excellent reader, a strong musician, and deeply creative. Spelling wasn’t her strength, but art was her language. Before she had the words to explain what made her special, drawing gave her a way to be seen and understood.

That simple truth—that art is a form of communication and connection—became the heart of everything we do.

You Don’t Have to Be “Good” at Art to Belong Here

At Michelle Can’t Spell, we don’t believe in perfect lines or staying inside the box.
We believe in expression—not perfection.

You don’t need fancy supplies.
You don’t need formal training.
You don’t even need to think of yourself as “creative.”

You just need a willingness to try.

Because art isn’t about getting it “right.”
It’s about getting you on the page.
Your joy.
Your mess.
Your feelings.
Your story.

Michelle didn’t fall in love with art because she was the best at it.
She fell in love with art because it let her be herself when nothing else could.

That’s what we’re here to give you, too.

So go ahead—scribble, smudge, make something weird.
You belong here, exactly as you are.

About the Artist: Michelle

Michelle didn’t start with words.
She started with color.

As a child, Michelle was an excellent reader and a deep thinker—but spelling was hard. She was often teased for her mistakes, even though she was already gifted in so many ways. While others saw what she couldn’t do, Michelle quietly found another way to speak.

She began to draw.

Art became her voice before she had the words to explain who she was.
It gave her a way to express big feelings, bright ideas, and the parts of herself that couldn’t always be said out loud.

Instead of shutting down, Michelle lit up—through pencils, paints, and imagination.
Now, she’s turned that personal journey into a powerful mission:
to help others express themselves through art, even when words fall short.

Today, Michelle leads creative sessions for kids, seniors, and anyone who needs a safe, joyful space to just be themselves. Whether it’s helping a child open up at a birthday party or guiding a grandparent through designing a coloring book for their grandkids, Michelle creates experiences that are about expression, not perfection.

Her message is simple but powerful:
You don’t have to spell it right to make something beautiful.
You just have to start.
